Most Aces Hit in a Tennis Match

Ivo Karlovic has done it again, crushing 47 aces yesterday in a 67 46 64 76 75 victory over James Blake in Davis Cup quarterfinal play.
Just six weeks “Dr. Ivo” smashed a record 55 in a loss to Lleyton Hewitt in the first round at the French Open. In all, it’s the third time Karlovic has exceeded 46 aces in a match, the other occasion coming at 2005 Wimbledon where he cracked 51 in a loss to Danielle Bracciali.
Ivo’s 47 aces marks the ninth time a player has registered 46+ aces in a tennis match. What’s interesting is that it’s happened three times in just the last six weeks.
